2026 Can’t-Miss Events for February Fun on Hilton Head

2026 Can’t-Miss Events for February Fun on Hilton Head

Hilton Head has a pulse all year long, but February is a sneaky good month. It’s quieter because most visitors tend to wait for warmer spring temps before making their way here. That means it’s the perfect moment for you to swoop in and soak up the island like a local.

Pick February 2026, and you step right into the month-long Hilton Head Island Gullah Celebration plus a lineup of other events! Let’s reveal some noteworthy ones.

Cultural Stewardship: Djuanna Brockington & The Gullah Geechee Corridor

If you love learning about culture, hear from Djuanna Brockington, the interim executive director of the Gullah Geechee Cultural Heritage Corridor. She has spent over 20 years championing nonprofit work and cultural preservation. On February 3, at the Coastal Discovery Museum, she’ll discuss the land-rooted heritage of the Gullah-Geechee people.

Friends & Family at The First African Baptist Church

Get ready for goosebumps — the good kind. On February 6 at the First African Baptist Church, there’ll be stirring music, incredible stories, heartfelt worship, and a deep dive into the historic community.

This church, founded in 1862, is the oldest congregation on Hilton Head and carries a legacy built by its early members. That includes Pastor Abraham Murchison, a former enslaved man from Savannah who became an influential leader in Mitchelville.

WE STILL RISE: Ol’ Fashioned Gullah Breakfast

Do the best mornings include delicious food and meaningful history to you? At Historic Mitchelville Freedom Park on February 7, step into a morning filled with authentic Gullah flavors, samplings from Da Shack, warm coffee, hot chocolate, and that peaceful Lowcountry sunrise over hallowed ground. Everyone who attends gets to be part of the 2026 Freedom Day Celebration!

Beethoven and Mozart

Calling all classical music fans, or anyone who just appreciates a good Symphony-with-a-capital-S moment.

The Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra is serving up a program led by Samuel Lee, winner of the 2024 Malko Conducting Competition. Expect Beethoven’s beautifully bright Symphony No. 4 and Mozart’s elegant Symphonia Concertante featuring HHSO’s own Principal Second Violin, Brian Allen.

Head over to the First Presbyterian Church on February 8 at 4:00 PM or on February 9 at 7:30 PM.

Mitchelville & The Gullah Museum: Foundations of Freedom and Memory

On February 10 at the Coastal Discovery Museum, learn about the mission of the Gullah Museum of Hilton Head, founded in 2003 by Native Islander Louise Miller Cohen. Discover Mitchelville, too, one of the very first self-governed towns established by formerly enslaved people during the Civil War. The evening ties histories together into one powerful reminder.

PlumpJack Wine Dinner

Be wined and dined (literally) by one of Napa Valley’s most well-loved wineries: PlumpJack, known for elegance, depth, and enviable 100-point Cabernet Sauvignons. Executive Chef Sean Carroll will craft a multicourse dinner on February 13, with each plate paired with PlumpJack wines selected by their own representative.

Just when you think this part of the annual Savor Sea Pines Festival can’t get any better, it ends with dessert from Executive Pastry Chef Iain Jones.

Gullah Twilight Music With Deas-Guyz

Outdoor concerts hit differently. Experience one on February 13! Settle into Shelter Cove Community Park with your blanket, grab some Gullah bites to snack on, browse artisan booths, and get ready for the legendary Deas-Guyz. Their blend of jazz, soul, and Gullah-influenced rhythms is the soundtrack for a sunset.

Voices of Gullah

Honor 30 years of partnership between the Arts Center and the Gullah community at this lively, soul-lifting afternoon event on February 14. Enjoy storytelling, songs, crafts, food, and so much cultural richness you’ll wish the day could last forever.

Also, inside the Walter Greer Gallery, find the annual De Aarts Ob We People exhibit. It is one of the largest displays of original artwork memorializing Gullah life.

Emory Campbell & Tom Barnwell, Jr. | Bridges Between Generations

Drop by the Coastal Discovery Museum on February 17 and meet two iconic personalities in the Gullah community: Emory Campbell, a lifelong preservationist and cultural leader, and Tom Barnwell Jr., whose family history in Mitchelville reaches back generations. They’ll tell you everything from Reconstruction to the present day, connecting land, memory, language, and leadership across time.

Gospel Series: Gospel Concert Featuring Voices of El Shaddai

Why not fill your heart all the way up? On February 20, be at the Central Oak Grove Baptist Church for another night of worship and music. The Voices of El Shaddai have been singing for nearly three decades, combining traditional spirituals, contemporary gospel, and touches of Gullah musical heritage.

Admission is complimentary. Simply RSVP and consider participating in the offering.

Sea, Soul & Sunshine Brunch

Brunch lovers, assemble! At the scenic Tiki Hut on February 21, the Beach House Hilton Head Island will be hosting Sea, Soul & Sunshine Brunch. Revel in the ocean breezes, tasty food, and soulful melodies from the Hallelujah Singers.

Come hungry and leave inspired by Southern culture.

Native Island Golf Classic

If you’re a fan of golf and serious about supporting the next generation, pencil this event in. The Native Island Golf Classic raises money for scholarships for local high school students heading to college, continuing the legacy of Reverend Isaac W. Wilborn Jr.

You can’t say no to a purposeful, fun day on the course! That’ll be on February 21 at the Port Royal Golf Club.

Ellis Island – The Dream of America

This moving program pays tribute to generations of immigrants whose courage and dreams helped shape America. Look forward to first-person accounts, dramatic visuals, and an emotionally rich score conducted by John Morris Russell and directed by Blake White.

Catch the February 22 show at 4:00 PM and the February 23 one at 7:30 PM at First Presbyterian Church.

Hilton Head Island Seafood Festival

Drumroll, please. One of Hilton Head’s most beloved traditions is back.

From February 23 to March 1, the Hilton Head Island Seafood Festival takes over with world-class chefs, wine tastings, outdoor feasts, master classes, wildlife excursions, and, of course, endless fresh seafood. What a week it’ll be!
