Hilton Head Island is a much-loved vacation destination. With its stunning white sand beaches and beautiful golf courses, it’s famous among South Carolina residents and out-of-state tourists on vacation alike.

The entire island has a total of over 23 championship golf courses, all of which draw hundreds of visitors each year. Among these amazing golf courses, four of the best ones on the island can all be found at Sea Pines. Located near the southernmost end of the island, the Sea Pines Resort is one of Hilton Head’s premier resort communities. While staying with Beachside Hilton Head Island, all of the Sea Pines golf courses are just around the corner, or even in your backyard.

Harbour Town Golf Links

First, we’ll look at the most well-known golf course: the Harbour Town Golf Links. This is the course that put Hilton Head Island on the radar of golf players across the country.

Designed by renowned architect Pete Dye in 1969, the Harbour Town Golf Links is the proud host to the RBC Heritage Golf Tournament Presented by Boeing. The tournament is the state’s only PGA Tour event.

Atlantic Dunes

Next, another Sea Pines Resort golf course that’s considered to be legendary. The Atlantic Dunes was originally known as the Ocean Course and is the first golf course built on Hilton Head.

In 2016,  redesigned and modernized by Davis Love III and his team. Today, this 18-hole course features a stunning and challenging layout.  Its beauty is accentuated by seaside grass, local plants, and coquina shells.

Heron Point

The last of Sea Pines Resort’s three legendary golf courses is Heron Point. It’s also the “youngest” of the three, as the latest addition to the resort’s golf amenities. Designed by acclaimed architect Pete Dye, this course is just as aesthetically pleasing and enjoyably challenging.

As young as the course may be, it has already undergone a major reconstruction back in 2007. Heron Point was originally the Sea Marsh Course. The course’s  its megamillion redesign and reconstruction in 2007.  Jay and Linda actually live on this course!

Sea Pines Country Club

Finally, the Sea Pines Country Club golf course may not rank among the legends, but it’s just as enjoyable and beautiful as the others.

Originally designed by Arnold Palmer and built in 1973, the golf course has since had several upgrades and reconstructions. Its current course was designed by Clyde Johnston in 2001 and features gentle doglegs and narrow landing areas that require high precision from its players.
