Every January, we wrap up the holidays, and fresh resolutions take over. Everyone is seeking ways to start the year on a high note! If there’s one place that promises celebration and relaxation, it’s Hilton Head.
While much of the country is bundling up and waiting out winter, the island is buzzing with sunshine and community spirit. Grab your calendar (and flip-flops) because we’ve rounded up some of the January 2026 can’t-miss events.
New Year’s Eve Celebration
Technically, it’s a December 2025 event, but it’s also a January 2026 one.
Watch the ball drop under the glow of the Harbour Town Lighthouse! This New Year’s Eve Celebration is a waterfront bash filled with food, music, and good vibes at 149 Lighthouse Road.
There are two drops. The first one happens at 7:00 PM, perfect for families with little ones (or early sleepers). The second one is at midnight, when the crowd counts down together and cheers in unison.
If you’ve never experienced a New Year’s Eve in Hilton Head, make 2026 your year.
Hilton Head Island Farmers Market
Of course, the Hilton Head Island Farmers Market will be open in January 2026. It’s one of those local traditions that never takes a break. Rain or shine, you’ll find good stuff and people every Tuesday from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
Located at the Coastal Discovery Museum, 70 Honey Horn Drive, the market offers a slice of island life. Farmers, artisans, and creators share what Hilton Head and the Lowcountry have to offer.
Be sure to stop by Full Spectrum Studio, a creative force dedicated to bringing artists with disabilities into the art community. There’s also Beachside Wood Art, featuring stunning pieces crafted from select cedar wood by Peter Brunn.
For delicious and sustainable seafood and seasonal produce, look for Carolina Seafood and Produce. For the world’s best she-crab soup and crab cakes, there’s Hank’s Lowcountry She Crab Soup.
The aroma alone from Hilton Head Island Coffee Roasters will pull you in. Have a cup of coffee, espresso, or cold brew (and maybe a pastry or two) to sip as you browse!
Rachmaninoff Symphony No. 2
What about something refined? The Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra is bringing serious musical magic to the island. As part of their Orchestra Series, they’ll be performing Rachmaninoff’s Symphony No. 2, a lush, romantic masterpiece that’ll give you all the goosebumps.
The concert features the delightful Oboe Concerto by Richard Strauss, performed by HHSO Principal Oboe, Reid Messich. Plus, Eric Whitacre’s Prelude in C, inspired by J.S. Bach, will receive its regional premiere. What a treat for any classical music fan!
Watch on January 18, 2026, at 4:00 PM or on January 19, 2026, at 7:30 PM at First Presbyterian Church, located at 540 William Hilton Parkway. Even if classical music isn’t your usual thing, events like these are a beautiful excuse to dress up and witness timelessness.
Snow Day
Snow in Hilton Head? Yes!
The Hilton Head Island Recreation Center hosts Snow Day, one of the most joyful and family-friendly events of the season. For kids (and maybe some grown-ups) who’ve never seen snow before, don’t think twice.
On January 31, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, head over to Shelter Cove Park at 39 Shelter Cove Lane for a winter wonder. There will be inflatable rides, a snowfield for play, and all sorts of entertainment.
Admission is only $10 at the door for ages two to 17. Everyone else gets in for free! We promise there’s nothing quite like seeing palm trees and snow in the same frame.
Live Music and More Everywhere
The music never stops in Hilton Head. Whether it’s a beach bar with live tunes or a pub with local acts, the island is always humming with rhythm. Here are some spots you can check out:
- The Rooftop Bar at 38 Shelter Cove Lane
- Kind of Blue at 19 Dunnagans Alley
- The Tiki Hut at 1 South Forest Beach Drive
- Frosty Frog Café at 1 North Forest Beach Drive
- Big Bamboo Cafe at 1 North Forest Beach Drive
It’s not just music, either! Hilton Head keeps things interesting with small events like Trivia Night at Club Seats Grille at 2600 Main Street or Bingo, Burgers, and Brews at Mellow Mushroom at 33 Office Park Road.
Basically, no matter where you go, there’s always something happening — and probably someone ready to sing along!
