If you’re up for this activity at Sea Pines, you’re in for a treat. First, you’ll likely meet Woody — a four-year-old Clydesdale who loves meeting visitors at the fence. You’re welcome to pet him and take pictures with him.
Afterward, you can take a one-hour guided horseback adventure underneath Palmettos and moss-covered oaks. The guides keep the pace at a walk so visitors can enjoy the tranquil surroundings.
Too nervous to have your kids ride a grown horse? Don’t worry; there are friendly Shetland Ponies at Lawton Stables ideal for children aged seven and below. However, note that children should be able to sit up on their own to enjoy this attraction.
The pony rides at the venue are open from 9:00 AM until one hour before closing. During this time, the kids can go two laps around the animal farm with a designated guide.

There are many horses at Lawton Stables, but it also houses other super cute animals! You’ll fall in love with the miniature donkeys and goats at the venue. Plus, you can also pet alpacas, goats, pigs, chickens, and ponies.
Like other farm adventures, you can feed the animals at Lawton Stables. There’s a feed machine at the front porch selling animal food for ¢25 a handful. Visitors are not allowed to feed the animals any food from outside the farm premises.
